Cardiac Rehabilitation Phase II

Cardiac Rehab Phase II is a monitored exercise program with individual, yet structured teaching to help with your lifestyle. We want to help you regain a maximum level of physical, emotional, social and vocational well-being. Cardiac Rehabilitation personnel consists of a specially trained cardiac registered nurse, a dietitian and other services as needed.

Education:

  • Heart anatomy and physiology
  • Lifestyle assessment
  • Cardiac risk factors
  • Dietary instruction
  • A wide variety of educational materials
  • Cardiac education films
  • Monitored exercise programs
  • Medication instruction

Exercise program:

An exercise program is set up on a three day week (Monday, Wednesday, Thursday) for at least four weeks. Times will be scheduled by a rehabilitation nurse with as much flexibility as possible. Spouses or other family members are encouraged to visit the sessions as often as they like.

Program eligibility:

To be eligible for the program, you must have a referral with a written exercise prescription from your physician.

Qualifications for cardiac rehabilitation candidates:

Candidates for our rehabilitation program include those diagnosed with heart disease including patients with myocardial infarction (heart attack), coronary artery bypass surgery, PTCA (balloon procedures), stents and angina.
