“I feel very privileged to be part of an organization that not only provides excellent health care, but also fosters wellness and assist in life’s milestones.”

Editor's Note : Siemens Medical Solutions is the company that
manufactures the new CT scanner and MRI machine that Mahaska Health Partnership (MHP) purchased in 2004 for their Radiology Department. Cassling Diagnostic Imaging is the company through which MHP has purchased several pieces of technology for the Radiology Department.
On July 22, 2004, health care facilities across the nation tuned into a webcast featuring Mahaska Health Partnership (MHP). The web cast, titled "Community Hospitals: Best Practices for Improving Patient Care and Increasing Revenue," was coordinated by Siemens Medical Solutions and had a registration of more than 500 health care professionals.
MHP Administrator, Jay Christensen, and Director of Radiology, Denise Kelly, presented for 40 minutes on MHP's growth in services and revenues over the past four years.
One of the major parts of the presentation was the recent Mahaska Hospital Radiology Department renovation and technology expansion project.
Siemens Medical Solutions Marketing Manager, Maryann Wilhelm, says choosing MHP for the educational webcast was an easy decision.
"For our first online educational forum we wanted to select a community hospital that was a shining example of a progressive, visionary organization committed to improving the health of its community," said Wilhelm. "Hands down, Mahaska was the clear choice."
In addition to the large number of health care professionals that registered for the webcast, Wilhelm says the number of questions asked by participants was much larger than other educational offerings Siemens has offered.
"It was clear from the volume of questions that executives from all over the United States were interested in what Jay and Denise had to say," said Wilhelm.
In addition to participating in the webcast for Siemens Medical Solutions, the MHP Radiology Department has been chosen by Cassling Diagnostic Imaging to be a show site for the states of Iowa, Nebraska, South Dakota, Kansas, and part of Illinois. According to Cassling Diagnostic Imaging Director of Marketing, Lindsay Cosimano, healthcare professionals in these states now visit the MHP Radiology Department to see how a rural healthcare facility can be technologically advanced.
"Mahaska is a cutting edge community hospital. It's a great opportunity for like sized facilities to see first hand the latest technology such as Emotion 6 CT, Magnetom Symphony MRI and PACs. That's a great accomplishment in helping improve patient care in the Mahaska community," said Cosimano.
